Faculty Multimedia Lab
Faculty members are encouraged to use technology in the CSU Faculty Multimedia Lab. The lab is here to serve the faculty in developing their own instructional materials for the class or the web. Located in the basement of the library, the lab offers equipment in video capture/editing as well as other types of technology. Among the software programs that are available to the faculty is an Optical Character Reader (OCR) that allows for the scanning of text, which converts hard copies of documents into editable text. We also have QuarkXPress, an industry leading desktop publishing software application. We are working to purchase several other packages that will improve the quality of course content, including enhancements to Powerpoint and a "virtual studio" software that can mimic the look and feel of television broadcasts - complete with teleprompter and a multitude of backgrounds. Come see what ITS can do for you!
